Richard Talbot Kelly was a painter of landscapes, figurative subjects and birds. He was the son of painter Robert Talbot Kelly, RI.He was educated at Rugby Public School and the Royal Military Academy - Woolwich. He served in the Royal Artillery from 1915 to 1925 and was in France from 1915 to 1918 and India from 1919 to 1922.He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute, the Paris Salon and widely in the provinces.Richard Talbot Kelly was elected to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1924.He published "The Way of Birds" 1937, "Bird Life and the Painter" and many other works.He was for some years the Art Master at Rugby School. |
